We are recruiting student volunteers for the American Society for Engineering Education Zone IV (Western North America) Conference May 12-14 2022, being held at UBC Vancouver Campus!
What kinds of roles?
- Helping manage presentation sessions, workshops, tours (including helping with our hybrid conference platform, Hopin)
- Helping folks navigate campus
- Set-up and take down at lunches and other events
- Anything else that needs doing!
Why volunteer?
- Learn about new trends in engineering education by attending talks and workshops
- Meet and network with engineering instructors and students from all over Western Canada and the US
- Get professional experience, including running hybrid (online and in-person) events
- Attend an academic conference and contribute to its success
- Free food!
Who can volunteer?
- Any post-secondary student (UBC or outside), including graduate students
Most volunteering positions will be Friday May 13 and Saturday May 14, with a few on Thursday or prior to the conference. We would ask for a minimum 4-hour commitment (but you could do more).
Note that most of the positions will require in-person attendance at UBC’s Vancouver Campus.
